Yes, "Halfsteps 3" is online! What I pursue is to make sound closer to the listener, add intimacy, at the same time to make it concerting. As I hear it in my head - space shout of delicate mini technique. Who can tell: why I am followed by wabi-sabi? 

I continue to make halfsteps ) and have posted a new video called Halfsteps 2 [Free Form Jazz Guitar]. It uses the same static footage (the same October crossroad), but now that is the movie with a people crossing street. I know that is amateurish, mobile video is not a Dolby TrueHD , but today that is the plus. Guitar tone is solid and round, melodical line is diffused, sleepy and relaxed.  Compare with the first Halfsteps .

I call my new tracks for myself as 'Kyiv' Heat', as temperature here is high today (+32C) - hot air stands still, no motion, but heart is fast and free imrovisation is fluid. TONE I recorded three takes #01140619, #02140619, #03140619 with 125 bpm tempo. The first take has bright  hard clean guitar tone and in third take that sound becomes really jazzy blue and muted. The second take has bright tone start and muted final. WHAT I DO The blues basic is important. I try to speak, be more nuanced. Tell short phrases, try don't think in chords, just feel. Every note should be preciously cut, to has start, development and story. I just think sax and trumpet players has more fine performance as they play by lips and breath, but guitarists use fingers, which are not very sensitive like lips. Two tracks #02090519 and #03090519, a second and third takes, got published on YouTube. As a rule I record three takes and choose the best one, but after re-listening I found out, that 2nd and 3d takes are both interesting and worth publishing.  My interests for now are a) developing of my own language of improvisation b) music developing at all.  Second Take    Third Take Backing track  Some notes about the sound. I have decided to go toward headphone acoustical comfort and pleasure. Therefore, some antiphase issues are exist, though it is the big no-no in EDM and mixing in general. I suppose my music will not be so popular on the dance floor, but will be listened a lot on headphones as most people do. And then - Techno Music + Free Jazz is VERY nice combination of "Butter and Bread".  

My next Free Jazz / Electro Techno creature is 18' long piece with Deep Techno kick. I liked to add some motive and keep the whole story in some scale or tonality, or modal form.  There are some Be-Bop elements at the end, but they are accidental. I avoid any be-bop stuf and concentrate more on phrasing, storytelling and melody. And you know - that is not easy. Much easy is to close eyes and start to improvise untill "tape ends". Any idea adds rational frame, which I like to avoid.    And again: - oops, I forgot to make pauses! Were is my belovely silence? I don't need that solo on background, but dialog!

My next track is a bit sad and dark, but I like to tell stories as they are - Spring just started. I don't want to be the next Montgomery or Metheny. Just myself. They told about yourself incredible stories and they are wonderful. As well Coltrane and Miles. Other times and presidents today.  Moreover, social online revolution, cryptocurrency, Twitter and Instagram - the fluid times! All musicians have the open space to tell its stories instantly. Everyone - is a mini media factory, which produce images, melodies, rhythms and... stories.       My improvisations is a bit slow I feel my impro's are slow in comparison with masters. Can I play faster? Sure. But here is not a stadium. And my compositions just a mini rehearsals before the show.  You don't play evergreens Why I need them? Another track posted on YT . I like that crispy Tele bluesy chords and at the same time I hate that old fashioned romanticism people love. What is really good is the Future House bass elements. But who doesn't like big bass? That bass keep that crappy sounds fresh. At least I continue experimentation and mix today with yesterday at any level of my stupidity. Another new point is the stereo - now stereo fx's are more deep. 

It seems that is a nice family - Electro House Techno vibe and free jazz guitar. Sometimes I have an impression that sax would be on the pair. Another point - I can't add some trendy bebop line. I don't use any fx-pedal, guitar sound is SX guitar and Logic. The latest mix has deep boomy house kick I like and athmospheric far guitar. Indeed that is a Green warm humbucker on the vacation, which became Tele.

a bit of history My first guitar (black electric) was made by my father when I was 9. I asked him very much to make guitar, as those on photos, and he ordered a wooden body in car garage of his friend and they painted it by beautiful black car lacquer. My second guitar (acoustic) I bought when I was 12. During my studying at Polytechnic Institute (5 years, mechanical engineer), I played with my Indie Rock band and in the parallel was graduated after evening musical school on Jazz guitar, where learned some theory and stuf . After finishing Institute ( Sykorsky University now) I started my new band, and we played free improvisation music (not jazz) in Art galleries and had couple of Radio shows nationwide.
